GRAY MATTERS

Thinking of the Romanian poet George Topârceanu, I could say: "Chirr-chirr-chirr, This fall's trend is gray".   You've probably already heard that, this fall, shades of gray are the IT factor. Yes, I know, in the first instance, you might think that this color is gloomy, monotonous, dull. However, in terms of fashion, gray can be stylish and, at the same time, cool & young. The designers are inviting us to test our creativity. For a successful startup, here are some good tips: play with shades from light gray to dark gray, and, for a touch of sparkle, include metallic grays. For maximum effect, add a touch of color such as yellow or purple. The rest is pure imagination! Photographer / Iuliana Popescu Location / Bucharest   ...

IN LOVE WITH STEFANEL

Hey dears! Recently I have been at Stefanel store and I fall in love with autumn collection. Stefanel's fall it is colorful and dominated by knitwear, as is their tradition.   I saw long coats in thick cashmere wool in warm colors, beige, military green and blue; silk blouses; striped sweaters; and short skirts with floral prints, in pure Sixties style.   I also noticed a return of collars, geometric patterns, leopard prints, and soft handbags in red and blue; plus the always present and timeless Stefanel overcoats.   A line that is both sober and vivacious, but also comfortable; these are three elements that are characteristic of Stefanel.   ...

CAPITAL LETTER A

A-line skirts have come and gone in the world of fashion over the years. Popular in the 1960s and 1970s, and now it is considered a classic look and one that every woman should have in her closet. I found this pleated leather skirt from H&M and it is amazing, youthful and such a versatile piece.    HOW TO CHOOSE AN A-LINE SKIRT  When choosing an A-line skirt, first ensure that it fits properly. The skirt should not be too loose or too tight. A tight skirt could accentuate a heavier lower body. A loose skirt could result in losing the body shape. Also, a skirt that flares too much at the bottom could give a sloppy appearance.Choosing the right length also is important,...

MADE IN RO

Hello there hearties! Today I inserted in my outfit composition an element designed in Romania. Actually I've always appreciate Romanian designers, and I have in my wardrobe names like: Laura Lazar, Irina Musat, Arina Varga, George Enache, Galina Panzaru, Razvan Firea, Tess Chiscop, Andra Andreescu. In the mean time I have also accessories from Romanian designers: Mihai Albu, Mihaela Glavan, Kristina Dragomir, Fandacsia, La Chaterie, Madalina Flusberg. I really do believe that here in our country, we have talented people, with an original point of view in fashion design. In fact, you should buy clothes and accessories made in Ro, and in this way you can help the young designers to go forward in the Romanian fashion industry. Don't think that prices...

PENCIL SKIRT

A pencil skirt is quite versatile - and with the right accessories and styling, you can easily transform it from a plain librarian look into something more chic and fun.    What I really love about this type of skirt is that it's flexible enough to team up with most types of tops and shoes. Especially a simple black pencil skirt which can be worn as a part of a conservative office work outfit or for parties - or with your casual denim shirt! You can dress it up for work or parties, or dress it down for casual everyday wear. Just put on your sophisticated dress shirt at daytime and take it off and put on a slouchy tee and you're good...

CREATE YOUR OWN STYLE

While many clothing styles and options are available to us today, there’s nothing quite like owning your own distinct fashion. Here's how to craft a unique style that's entirely your own.  1. Evaluate your closet. Go through what you already own and decide what you like. Pieces that you keep should have a fit that's flattering to your body, as well as an overall look that blends with your shape.   2. Pick out the elements that you like. On the clothes that you do keep, evaluate what exactly it is that makes you like to wear them - such as the cut, the sleeves, the embellishments, or the color. Write down a list of these elements and take it shopping with you...

ANDROGYNY

Androgyny has always been a source of interest and intrigue. But as society's boundaries have changed, so too have the masculine-feminine boundaries blurred. From ambiguous sexual and physical attributes evolving to a more relaxed stance on gender-blurring fashion, we look at the changing face of androgyny - and how women's fashion is taking a masculine turn for summer.  The history books are littered with examples of androgynes who captivated society with their pleasant gender-bending confusion. But while the concept is not a new one, they were historically figures who rebelled against society’s norms. They were the Beau Brummels, the David Bowies, the Coco Chanels and Marlene Dietrichs. Now, with the boundaries of what’s acceptable being more and more blurred, the time...
