MISS MODELS INTERNATIONAL

My dear fashionistas, today I would like to introduce you a big event that is going to happen in Sibiu, Romania, on 12th of July. Miss Models International, which has been organised in USA in the past 8 years, is now, for the first time, held outside the States, in Romania. Gabriela Schiop, the organiser of this event, choose her hometown Sibiu, in order to promote it, and Romania as well, as the ultimate travel destination.  Being part of the jury I decided to meet the girls prior the Grande Finale, by making a photo session together. There are 20 finalists from Haiti, Bulgaria, Norway, France, Italy, UK, Sweden, Moldova, Russia, Egypt, Latvia, Germany, Israel, Korea, USA, Serbia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Dominican...

A-LINE

This classic skirt flaunts an early-’60s attitude, and the polished daytime look is ever-appropriate. But our A-line obsession is rooted in the universally flattering, hip-and-thigh disguising shape that lets us have our cake and eat it too. And for that, it will always have a place in our closet.  HOW TO WEAR IT   There’s a prim, clean-scrubbed vibe to these skirts. So add a fitted little jacket or a basic belt, and carry a structured bag. And while it may be tempting to slip on a pair of flats, these skirts, especially those that fall below the knee, beg for the height of a ladylike heel. ...

BRING BACK THE 60s

Have you seen those fashion icons that bring back a time period, and they look so beautiful? Now you, yes you, can be that fashion icon and make the 60's back in style.  60s APPARELFor a very popular 1960s look, wear a mini skirt with a long collared shirt tied at the collar with a black ribbon, or a smock dress covered in loud patterns finished off with high boots. White patent leather boots, known as “go go” boots are an ideal choice of 60s footwear.Another great 60s look is to wear a striped top or dress put together with black tights or leggings. Wet look PVC was just starting to come into fashion in the 1960s, so these can be...

Struggle between lightness and darkness

Hello fashionistas! So nice to meet you again, here on my personal blog.  Today I will talk about one of my favorite designers. I am a big fan of Gareth Pugh and today I wear an interesting dress designed by him. What do you think about this dress? Fell free and comment. But before this, let's see who is Pugh.  At 14, Pugh began working as a costume designer for the English National Youth Theatre. He started his fashion education at City of Sunderland College and finished his degree in Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins in 2003. He interned with Rick Owens in Paris. His final collection at St. Martins, which used balloons to accentuate models' joints and limbs (a technique...

GRUNGY STYLE

Hey fashionistas! I'm so happy to share another post with all of you. Let's see what we have for today. You've probably heard about grunge style and probably you may not know exactly what it means. Read this material and you will know for sure.      If you want a definition heres one from wikipedia:   'The most important event in 1990s fashion was the rise of Grunge fashion in 1992. Grunge fashion was influenced by grunge music, which achieved mainstream popularity in 1992, due to the mainstream success of Nirvana and their hit single Smells Like Teen Spirit. The grunge style resulted in a decline in bright colours, and was dominated by plaid flannel shirts, stonewashed blue jeans, and dark colours like maroon, forest green,...

MAXI

This summer, a certain style of skirt has grabbed my attention - the maxi.    Equal parts laid-back and feminine, the maxi is easy to wear on the weekend with a wrist full of bangles or the morning school/coffee run with strappy (but appropriately and sensibly flat) sandals.    No matter what you do with it, a fitted pencil skirt will make you look the business nine-to-five but pulling on a relaxed, floor-sweeping skirt: pays off in the fashion appeal, comfort and versatility stakes. When you choose to wear maxi skirts, it's important to remember four things. Let's find out!1. Consider your height I’ll let you in on a short girl’s secret: too-long hemlines will only make you look shorter. Maxi skirts should just graze the...
