At the beginning of this year, I participated at Barcelona Fashion Week, where, besides watching the great shows, I got the chance to visit the city for two days.
Well, just one and a half, really, after taking me 6 hours to recover my stolen mobile phone…
Now, as many friends have asked me lately to give some tips about Barcelona, I decided to write this post and tell you what have I done there. For a more detailed post, I promise to go on a longer vacation.
In the first morning in Barcelona, I took the best brunch I’ve ever had in holidays, at Federal (Calle Parlament, 39). The place is hospitable and the food delicious. I recommend eggs with spinach which, besides being kinda fat, really worth it. Then, the ginger tea, which is very spicy.
If you love coffee (I don’t), and want to try something traditional, go to Cafes el Magnifico (Argenteria, 64), which is posh and has one of the best coffee selection in the world. I preferred to drink tea and admire the tradition of this place.
If you want to see a donut exhibition, like in my pictures, and also to taste them, go on Carrer del Carme, 3, la Chok.
The last culinary recommendation, a healthy one, is Carles open air restaurant (Jovellanos, 2), a vegetarian restaurant where, unfortunately, I didn’t have time to enjoy. But I heard lots of good things about it. So, if you arrive there, make sure to tell me if it is that good or not.
This particular holiday, I decided not to visit the basic tourist attractions (Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Stadium Camp Nou, etc). I chose instead to walk until Park Montjuic. It was wonderful! The vegetation, the view and the Montjuic castle, which I had only heard about, are must see. As a different experience, take the cableway until the port. Also, mind that the entrance to Park Guell, is not free anymore, unfortunately.
On the second day (well, on its half), I spent time with two of my hobbies: walking throught the fresh fruits markets and shopping.
Of course, I went to Mercat de la Boqueria to taste strawberries and cherries (I do this all the time in Spain), and visit some shops on the famous Paseig de Gracia street, where I was delighted to discover that the Other Stories store had just been opened, just one year after its launch in London.
If you love live concerts, while walking on the Rambla, look for the posters on the street and you might find out that one of your favourite artists is performing in the city. This happened to me also and I went to Michael Buble’s show, which was extraordinary.
So, my dears, if you are planning to visit Barcelona this spring, have fun and do not forget to tag me in your photos so that I won’t feel sorry that I am not with you on holiday!Kiss!
