Before my vacation in Panama, I had a two days Tommy Hilfiger marathon in Athens together with a couple Romanian journalists. If you follow me on snapchat ( carmennegoita ) you surely have seen my their gorgeous showroom and the new collections. If you didn’t, I’ll talk about the new trends, plus a couple of beautiful places we visited in our free time there.
After the flight to Athens and a change of outfits, we started our morning in the Tommy Hilfiger showroom.
In a navy decor, inspired by the NYFW catwalk I admired pieces from the Women’s Runway collection, which I adore, but also the Denim & Men’s collections.
Let me tell you a little secret, Tommy Hilfiger is preparing the launch of a surprise collection, in collaboration with one of the biggest influencers in the world, but of which I’ll tell you more once they’ll launch it officially. I was one of the lucky persons to see exclusively a couple of items.
When I first saw the fall 16 collection presented at NYFW, I was impressed by the mix of fluid dresses which reminded me of grandma’s dresses, yet in the same time with a modern touch, but also by the navy inspired pieces. Jackets with oversized buttons, stripes, wide leg pants & high waist are a part of the TH brand, but somehow they manage to reinvent them every season and surprises us with new details. For me, the “piece de la resistence” were the retro shoes with lame socks. I had chance to admire them in the Athens showroom, but didn’t have the chance to try them on. This combo is on my wishlist.
After these busy hours we had launch at Pastis Brasserie, where I ate one of the best greek salads and appetisers. Then, like any fashionista I did a small tour of the mall and a couple of other shops. I just had to check out the Athens shopping scene.
We concluded the day with business dinner at The House Project – Balux Cafe, a beautiful place which you must not miss if you visit Athens. During the day you can sunbath, it’s very relaxed and the evening it becomes a fancy restaurant with an amazing view.
After 9 hours of sleep, I went fresh and full of energy to Attica Mall and let me tell you that I didn’t want to leave. From the Tommy Hilfiger stores we visited, to the floors of domestics shoes, bags, everything was impeccable. Would have needed at least a day to see everything, maybe next time.
My wish was to see Acropolis, but unfortunately the girls didn’t agree with my idea to take a tour at 36 degrees. Instead, we visited a nearby area with awesome houses, greek taverns where we ate yummy dishes and bought a couple of souvenirs.
I teamed up with Raluca Hagiu from Unica, Elle’s Crina Alexe and Ina Borcea from Harper’s Bazaar which I’m glad I came to know better. A big thank you to the lovely ladies who organised the press trip, Andreea Paulian from Tommy Hilfiger Romania & Ruxandra Chiurtu from Shake Advertising. Glad to spend so many wonderful moments with you.
Kisses
