Hello dear ones! I’m back from my latest holiday- at the seaside, of course-, and my head is still thinking about sun, sea and sand. But aren’t we all dreaming about summertime lounging by the pool every day? I know for sure I am. One of the things I love most about summer besides relaxing all day long with a cocktail by my side, is that the dress code loosens up, becomes more permissive and colourful.
I love wearing clothes that are fluid and loose, and that bring out my best features. And because I’m being asked so often about what I like to wear on hot weather and how I love to wear my dresses, I decided to make up a Top 5 of my favourite summer dresses for you and show you why I love them and how I wear them.

One of the main criteria I based my decisions on is versatility. I love outfits that are timeless and can be worn both by the beach, over your swimsuit, or at night, for a cocktail at the bar. I guess that’s even the secret to investing money wisely: buying classic pieces, that can fit every occasion depending on the way you accessorise them.
One of my secrets ( that now you will know too) is to always carry a pair of heeled sandals and statement earrings in my car for unpredicted events, like an ad-hoc dinner party or a spontaneous business meeting.

My first choice is the floral stripeless dress from H&M which is ‘in’ since Spring season, but which I’m gonna wear all summer long. I love the deep cleavage and the split, as I find it emphasises the waist. It is actually a model fit for every body type – because after all, which woman would not want to accentuate her waist. It’s a dress model that you will find in most stores this season, and I like wearing it barefoot on the beach, with a pair of statement earrings. I also love the fluid materials and the vibrant color pattern, which are suitable for every summer event attire.

The Dress number 2 is, as I like to call it, a “little white dress” for the hot season, which shouldn’t be missing from any woman’s dressing closet. My little white dress (also from H&M) comes with a lot of adventures. After having it stolen from my luggage in Costa Rica, I purchased another one right away because I loved it too much. Now I wear it almost all the time- because it is such a simple model, I wear it over my bikini on the beach, or with a pair of espadrilles and a matching clutch for a cocktail event in the evening.

The third dress (H&M) is both casual and elegant, due to its powder pink color, and the plies on the model. I find it dresses the body really nicely and falls loose because of the light fabric- so versatile and good to go all summer long. My advice to accessorise it: espadrille sandals on the beach, and a bright lipstick with a pair of heels at night. The combination of powder pink and light beige is actually such a complimentary shade that fits any skin type or hair color.

The Asian-inspired kimono with a split by Urban Post is one of my favorite models. I’ve talked about kimonos in my previous posts, and this one is one of the most fashionable models of the season. The exotic print with animals and birds is actually one of the most frequent prints you will see on each fashion blogger and fashionista out there. I’ve worn this one both on the beach over my swimsuit, as well as on TV shows over a pair of jeans. See why it is such a common and versatile style?

Last but not least, my actual “little black dress” for the season, long, black summer dress by Liu Jo/Unic Brands, which is really accentuating my actual hair color. I love the contrast between black and blond, so I think I just found the perfect choice for a more elegant/ chic night out with my girlfriends.
